Summary of Changes from Previous Version
vacancy of the Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor (SDVC), and a review of
University policies relating to domestic and international student
admissions. These amendments have been approved by Academic Board and
include:
- Provisions relating to domestic and international student
admissions and enrolment now combined into this Rule.
- Amendments to ensure compliance with the ESOS Act - National Code,
such as leave of absence provisions and use of residential address for
student records.
- Offer and acceptance process introduced and defined.
- New sections added relating to refusing admission, withdrawing offers and cancellation of enrolments:
- For domestic students, the decision maker is the Director, Student Services, and
- For international students, the decision maker is the Director, SCU International.
- Clarification that students must not be admitted while under
exclusion from SCU or any other University, and that permanently excluded
students must not be admitted to SCU for at least 24 months from the start
of the exclusion.
- Introduction of an appeal right for admissions decisions.
- Approval of concurrent unit enrolments and cancellation of units
changed from the SDVC to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).
- Minor changes to headings, structure, clause location and use of
language to improve usability and remove ambiguity.
Schedule B of Rule 2 has been updated, and Schedule D has been removed as
its contents is now incorporated into the Rule.
As a result of the above changes, the International Admissions Policy is
now redundant and has been rescinded.
