Summary of Changes from Previous Version

A number of amendments have been made to this Rule arising from the

vacancy of the Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor (SDVC), and a review of

University policies relating to domestic and international student

admissions. These amendments have been approved by Academic Board and

include:

- Provisions relating to domestic and international student

admissions and enrolment now combined into this Rule.

- Amendments to ensure compliance with the ESOS Act - National Code,

such as leave of absence provisions and use of residential address for

student records.

- Offer and acceptance process introduced and defined.

- New sections added relating to refusing admission, withdrawing offers and cancellation of enrolments:

- For domestic students, the decision maker is the Director, Student Services, and

- For international students, the decision maker is the Director, SCU International.

- Clarification that students must not be admitted while under

exclusion from SCU or any other University, and that permanently excluded

students must not be admitted to SCU for at least 24 months from the start

of the exclusion.

- Introduction of an appeal right for admissions decisions.

- Approval of concurrent unit enrolments and cancellation of units

changed from the SDVC to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).

- Minor changes to headings, structure, clause location and use of

language to improve usability and remove ambiguity.

Schedule B of Rule 2 has been updated, and Schedule D has been removed as

its contents is now incorporated into the Rule.

As a result of the above changes, the International Admissions Policy is
