Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The amendment of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Procedures aims to strengthen the University’s oversight, risk management and quality assurance arrangements for WIL activities.

Key changes introduce a formal, risk-based governance framework for WIL, including structured WIL Risk Assessments aligned with the University’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, escalation and reporting requirements. The Procedures also clarify the distinction between WIL Risk Assessments and WIL
Partner due diligence, with clearer approval authorities and responsibilities. Student safety and wellbeing are strengthened through explicit recognition of psychosocial hazards, enhanced supervision requirements (including remote WIL), and expanded pre-placement information to ensure informed participation.

The revisions provide greater clarity on formalised processes for managing unsatisfactory progress and conduct in WIL, with clear investigation, determination, review and appeal pathways.
