Changes to the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 Qld, have been made, effective 31 August 2020. Amendments to the Child Safe Environment Procedures have been made to ensure that the University is compliant with the legislation. The changes reflect: 1. A new "no card, no start" law. Previously if an application was in progress an employee was able to commence. 2. A new online Application/Linking/De-Linking process. The new process allows Applicants apply for their own Blue Card. The University is required to check the photograph on the card against a form of photo ID, and use a new online form to link the person to the organisation. There is also a new online de-linking form, that the University is required to complete as necessary. 3. A New frequency test. After 31 August, people won’t need a Blue Card if they don't work or volunteer with children for more than 7 days in a calendar year. If the child-related work is more than 7 days, they will need a Blue Card.
